More than a church, St James’ is at the heart of the city.
Our vision is in creating an open, inclusive and engaging sanctuary for all; regardless of social standing, sexuality, race or religion.
We respect both our heritage and that of the traditional custodians of this land, while shaping our future through excellence in music, education and worship.
Our impact is our legacy. We aspire to establish trust with our community by presenting our message of inclusion, grace and faith.
Advent Quiet Day: Meeting God in Matthew
December 7 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Our annual quiet day of prayer and reflection before the busy season of Advent and Christmas preparations. Join us for this ‘spiritual health day’ as we seek to encounter God and refresh ourselves spiritually at the beginning of the new church year. Our theme is ‘Meeting God in Matthew’ as we prepare to hear readings from the Gospel of Matthew in the coming year in ‘Year A’ of the three-year lectionary cycle, which begins on Advent Sunday.
St John’s Balmain, corner of Birchgrove Road and Spring Street, Birchgrove. Tickets $40 (includes morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea). Bookings essential. Book via Humanitix or register at firstname.lastname@example.org and pay at the St James’ Office.
